Ceasing action on Blogger

For those of you who know me and my weird, possibly a bit OCD, obsession with even numbers (and by even numbers I mean in increments of 5) I have decided now would be a good time (my 30th post) to cease action on this blog and solely use my Wordpress blog. While Blogger has a couple features I will miss, like email and SMS blogging, Wordpress has so many extra features that outweigh email and SMS blogging, which I hardly use anyway. Besides I like my layouts better on Wordpress.

So please if you follow this blog, please continue to follow me on Wordpress. Thanks guys.

The Ultimate Fight US vs UK

So, I decided to check out the UFC's reality TV show, The Ultimate Fight (TUF), on Spike TV because it is the United States vs. United Kingdom. The US team is lead by Dan Henderson and the UK team is lead by Michael Bisping. I like both these fighter and I figured it would be interesting country vs country. The show premiered April 1 with the UK holding elimination fights at Michael Bisping's gym "The Wolfslayer". The fights were good, nothing out of the ordinary happened. It was when the show continued next week where things got interesting.

Episode 2, the following week, started off with a bang. Jason Pierce fanted, but was ok and would continue to fight and win. Another welterweight, Christian Fulgium, was having trouble making weight and did ultimately not end up making weight so was not able to continue on the show. Lightweight fighter, John David Shackleford, was found to have a herpes legion on his forehead and therefore could not compete on the show. This left two fighters, welterweight,Kiel Reid and lightweight, Jason Dent, with no one to fight to get into the house. Well don't worry they wont just into the house, Dana White, brought in two standbys to take these eliminate fighters.

Frankie Lester and Rob Browning were brought in to fight Reid and Dent, respectively. This moved pissed me off, specifically for that Rob Browning, TUF 9 competitor Junnie Browning's little brother. Yeah I know you can't fault Rob for Junnie's idiotic antics and White even said this himself, but Rob would prove everyone correct in the fact that he is exactly like his brother in episode 3.

Epsiode 3, which aired tonight (4/15), gave us a glimpse at the house and the team in it. Of course Junnie, I mean Rob, started drinking and running his mouth and throwing eggs at the other fighters on the basketball, eerily similar to Junnie's antics. EVERYONE, and I mean EVERYONE in the house was pissed off at Rob and rightfully so. People like him do not deserve to be in the house. I am kinda curious if Dana would have thrown him out for his antic if he was able to make it in the house. That's right, luckily Rob got his ass kick by Jason Dent and was eliminated. This is always good because I was torn in whether to keep watching the show if Rob made it into the house. Luckily I can keep watching the show with no qualms.

I am looking forward to this season.

First Offical Game at Citi Field

Unfortunately due to work, I was unable to catch the opening ceremony, and missed most of the game due to 24 (which I am not upset about). Why I am not upset well 1. 24 is the best show on TV, 2. David Wright hit the first Met home run (a 3 run shot) to tie the ball game. Typical Mets I don't watch and they produce.

Unfortunately the Mets were unable to come up with a W, after a 3 base error by Ryan Church in right field, combo'd with a balk by Pedro Feliciano a few batter latter to bring home that go ahead run. Mike Pelfrey didn't help the situation by giving up 5 earned runs in 5 innings pitched. As long as we come back and win the series all will be forgotten, maybe?

SJU Hats

So I am going to the St. John’s vs. Georgetown baseball game at Citi Field on Sunday. I hope the rain holds out. I can’t wait to see the new stadium, and this will be the first baseball game played in Citi Field and it’s my alma matter, so that’s even more exciting. Since graduating St. John’s I got rid of my SJU hat because it was too small. So this week I was running like a chicken with my head cut off looking for a new SJU. So how did I end up with three SJU hats? I’ll tell you how:

Well once I remembered I needed a hat I went on Lids.com to find one and I did. I this hat. It’s navy blue with the red old school logo. By old school logo I mean the logo from when I was in school. So, I ordered this hat from lids.com and had it shipped to the Lids store in he Broadway mall. I shipped it to the store because it was free. When I completed my order they said it would take 10-14 days to arrive. I was like this sucks the games on Sunday. This was on March 21st. So I had to try to get a new hat for Sunday. So I went to the lids in Broadway Mall, they had a hat I like but didn’t have my size, so I head over to the Roosevelt Field Mall.

At the Roosevelt Field Mall I found the hate I want in my size. I also found a had with the new logo on it I also liked. I told the girl in Lids that I was trying to decide which one to get. She said they were buy one get one half off, so I got both. Now at this point I had planned on canceling my order from lids.com as I was under the impression it would not arrive on time.

After I bought the two hats (see below) from the Lids in the Roosevelt Field Mall I checked my order status online and it was shipped. So, here I am at an impasse. Which hat should I keep. Granted that the blue one fits good, I will probably keep that one and the white one as I like the old school logo better then the new one.

Would you like to weight in on my decision, please visit my wordpress blog to vote for which hat I should keep. Thanks

New Yorkers Pre-Season scrimmage

Today I had a scrimmage with my MABL/MSBL Baseball team, The New Yorkers. Check out our league/team website http://www.scorebook.com/newyorkers. We scrimmaged again the New York, Blaze, who were actually a pretty good team considering it is mid-march and I am sure neither of us have been able to practice outdoors due to weather and field conditions. We did actually get outside last week. We took infield/outfield and some batting practice.

Today was an actually game scrimmage. We played 9 innings, tried to nail down the fundamentals as we played, you know, using signs, leading off, stealing, bunting, hitting cut off men, etc… This probably what killed my ankles. I was asked to steal second, with a man on third, and I did and made it. Then a base knock to right-center, and I was sent home, JOY more running. I could have twistmy ankle rounding third but I don’t think so, because both ankles hurt.

I think it was a matter of running at full speed with new cleats on, after 3 years of not running on a baseball diamond. I am going to give it a few days and if they are still bothering me, I’ll get them checked out.

We have another scrimmage next week, however I wont be able to make it, as I am going to see the St. John Red Storm (my alma matter) take on Georgetown in an exhibition baseball game at Citi Field. Thanks Uncle Eugene. It will give my ankles some extra time to heal. Then I think we have another scrimmage the following week, then a week off and then the season starts on the 19th. We’ll be playing 22 games (barring any rain-outs), including a wood bat game on father’s day, that should be fun.

Well I am exhausted and hurting so I am gonna hit the hay. Hopefully my ankles will feel better tomorrow.

It's Baseball Time again

As the temperature rises and the snow melts, that could only mean one thing....It's Baseball Time Again!!

Today there were some great World Baseball Classic games.

First up was the Netherlands vs. the Dominican Republic. Which was dubbed by ESPN one of the greatest upsets in sports history, the Netherlands defeated the Dominican Republic 3-2 after scoring their 3 runs in the first inning of play. The total length of their hit in that inning would not have reached an outfielder, yet they still won against a pretty powerful and dominant Dominican team. The Dominican's are not out, yet. The first round is a double elimination round. So they will play the loser of the Panama/Puerto Rico game, which is going on right now.

Next up today was the U.S.A. vs. Canada. USA was able to revenge their 2006 elimination loss to Canada by defeating Canada 6-5. USA had a 6-4 lead going into the 9th inning. New New York Mets closer/set-up man JJ Putz was able to shake off a towering double by Russell Martin and another double by John Votto bringing Russell Martin to earn the save in the U.S.A. opening round game against Canada.

Don't you just love this game. :)

LIRR, Please decommission these old trains

I am not sure if LIRR is trying to get these old trains decommissioned or not but they are making a great claims with these bathrooms.

Yesterday morning everything was going fine, until the train arrived and it was an old train. As the doors opened the stench from the bathroom was horrific. It smelt like someone had died in the bathroom and forgot to flush on his way out. Usually I can tolerate the smell, when it's not too bad, but this was just way too strong of a stench to deal. I had to move toward the front of the car away from the bathroom. I didn't feel like switching cars because I hate moving from car to car while the train is moving, it's just freaky.

I beg you Long Island Rail Road PLEASE decommission this nasty old trains, or at least have a cleaning crew clean the bathrooms before your send out the train to pick up hundreds of people at 7:30 in them morning. We pay to much money to have to deal with smelling shit for 50 minutes while we commute into the city.

Real Estate Business Card Picture

For those of your who may not know, I will soon be a Licensed Real Estate Sales Associate (or Agent). As you probably real estate is about getting your name out there, and one way to do that is by handing out business cards and fliers and stuff. To make this even more successful it’s worth while to put your picture on the business car and flier and on the company’s website (Century 21 American Homes). The picture on there is ok but I think the size of the picture caused the picture to get distorted and it might be a bit too dark, so I decided to pick three pictures and resize them properly. Since the poll on here wont let you add images as your options I have posted the pictures below. If you would be as so kinda as to help me decide which photo to go with for my business cards and to put on the website, it would be greatly appreciated.

And since blogger doesn't have polls to add to your posts and I can't seem to figure out how to add the poll I created on Facebook to my profile, if you would like to vote and help me out please visit my Wordpress blog: WTF!? IS UP WORLD and help a brother out. You opinion is greatly appreciated.

It's funny cause it's true...

  1. Never give me work in the morning. Always wait until 4:00 and then bring it to me. The challenge of a deadline is refreshing.
  2. If it's really a rush job, run in and interrupt me every 10 minutes to inquire how it's going. That helps. Or even better, hover behind me, advising me at every keystroke.
  3. Always leave without telling anyone where you're going. It gives me a chance to be creative when someone asks where you are.
  4. If my arms are full of papers, boxes, books, or supplies, don't open the door for me. I need to learn how to function as a paraplegic and opening doors with no arms is good training in case I should ever be injured and lose all use of my limbs.
  5. If you give me more than one job to do, don't tell me which is priority. I am psychic.
  6. Do your best to keep me late. I adore this office and really have nowhere to go or anything to do. I have no life beyond work.
  7. If a job I do pleases you, keep it a secret. If that gets out, it could mean a promotion.
  8. If you don't like my work, tell everyone. I like my name to be popular in conversations. I was born to be whipped.
  9. If you have special instructions for a job, don't write them down. In fact, save them until the job is almost done. No use confusing me with useful information.
  10. Never introduce me to the people you're with. I have no right to know anything. In the corporate food chain, I am plankton. When you refer to them later, my shrewd deductions will identify them.
  11. Be nice to me only when the job I'm doing for you could really change your life and send you straight to managers' hell.
  12. Tell me all your little problems. No one else has any and it's nice to know someone is less fortunate. I especially like the story about having to pay so much taxes on the bonus check you received for being such a good manager.
  13. Wait until my yearly review and THEN tell me what my goals SHOULD have been. Give me a mediocre performance rating with a cost of living increase. I'm not here for the money anyway.

Anyone who has worked in an office environment and really anywhere can attest.

Turn down the music...seriously

WHY THE FUCK DO PEOPLE FEEL THE NEED TO BLAST THEIR MUSIC. NOBODY WANTS TO HEAR YOUR MUSIC. THEY CALL THEM HEADPHONES FOR A REASON, TO KEEP THE FUCKING MUSIC TO YOURSELF. IF HALF THE TRAIN CAR CAN MAKE OUT WHAT SONG YOUR PLAYING IT'S TOO FUCKING LOUD. IF THEY MP3 PLAYERS WERE MEANT TO GIVE A FREE CONCERT TO EVERYONE WOULDN'T THEY HAVE A SPEAKER BUILT IN?
